When you pick up your rental car, ask for a road map of Portugal. Check your vehicle and make sure that all is ok: tank is full, papers are present, there is no visible damage etc. Please mention any problems to your rental company before leaving the car park.

How to get to Casa Boavista
Route from the airport of LISBON via de 2nd Circular to the A8 to Casa Boavista

When you leave the car park turn right, keep left and follow direction CENTRO/CITY CENTER. Take the tunnel. After approximately 300 meters, keep right on the large roundabout. Take the first exit “2e CIRCULAR“. This leads you to the city’s Ring Road. You will pass a Repsol gas station and a McDonalds/KFC restaurant.
After approximately 1.3 km, take exit 5 “A8 Loures/Odivelas” (not 5 Entrecampos). Continue straight ahead passing traffic lights. Slow down on the highway after 3 km in order to take a toll road / Portagem ticket. Do NOT take Via Verde (usually indicated by a green V, this costs €50!!).
The toll road ends after some 63 km. Please pay toll (about €4,60) and continue on the A8 to Leiria – Caldas da Rainha. Past Caldas da Rainha there is another toll road to Alfeizerao (about €1). Take exit 21 (Alfeizerao – São Martinho Do Porto) and follow the signalisation boards to Alfeizerao – São Martinho Do Porto. Continue straight ahead ± 3,5 km till you reach the roundabout.
Leave São Martinho do Porto to your left and follow Nazaré. In about 1 km you reach another roundabout (you see an Intermarché on your left), continue in the direction of Nazaré and after about 500 meters you see signs to ‘Camping Colina do Sol’ and ‘Serra dos Mangues’. Turn left (mind the opposite traffic) and continue until the camping, turn right into Rua Vasco da Gama. Continue until you see a small supermarket and a café/restaurant (Tipica Da Serra). Turn left in the next street (Rua Da Liberdade), continue uphill, keep right (Rua da Gralha) and make a right turn on the first street (Rua da Boavista). Follow this road until you see a dirt road on your left (between Casa Emilio and a house with a ‘Boa Vista’ sign). A sign with an arrow indicating left will guide you to your destination: Casa Boavista!
