Things to see and do
History, cities, beaches, golf
Historical sights include: the convents of Alcobaça, Batalha and Tomar, as well as Conimbriga and the university town of Coimbra. Furthermore, the pilgrimage site of Fátima, the medieval town of Óbidos, the fisherman town of Peniche, the gothic Santarém and the museum Alpiarça are not to be missed. Last but not least, the capital Lisbon and the palaces of Mafra and Sintra are alsowell worth a visit.
The beaches in the bay of São Martinho do Porto and around the lagoon of Óbidos are very welcoming and offer plenty of activities: surf the waves of Baleal and Foz Do Arelho, hit the fairways of the renowned Praia del Rey golf course or dive and snorkel in the waters of the Berlengas islands.Mountainbike and hiking tracks start from our property.
Wine lovers will be in heaven in this region which is being called the ‘Portuguese’ Tuscany. A fascinating wine route starts some 15 km from Casa Boavista.
